COED HILLS
Coed, is set in the beautiful countryside of South Wales. Whilst easily accessible by car and public transport just off the M4 and A48 about 10 miles from Cardiff, it has a remote feel by being just outside the picturesque village of St Hilary, surrounded by forest and fields with stunning views all the way to the Welsh coast.
The accommodation is communal and basic - we sleep on mattresses in pods set around a circular space. Coed is fitted with underfloor heating, a log burner and a sauna that we use in the evenings between the afternoon and evening sessions. Basic Airbnb is also available for a small price.
Coed hosts a community that combines art, music, permaculture, a forest garden, a market garden field that supplies organic veg boxes to the local community and Cardiff market. Groups that gather here are encouraged to engage with the land and gardens, and to explore the sense of living in a community that develops during our time together.
Apart from our courses, Coed hosts a variety of transformational seminars, healing spaces and alternative weddings and celebrations.

By car
On the A48 either after the Cowbridge exit (coming from West) or after Bonvilston village (coming from Cardiff), turn off to St Hilary (the turning is just after/ before The Bryn Owain restaurant).
When you get to St Hilary, you will come to a fork in the road, right to ‘The Bush’ and left to ‘Coed'. Take the left, and then immediately left again. You will see an old-fashioned red telephone box on your left, and will now be on a single lane track. Follow that for a little while until you go up a hill. Look out for the ‘Coed’ sign and entrance on the right. Turn in here, over the cattle grid and park in the field on the right.
By public transport
From Cardiff Central station, exit straight ahead, cross the road and take the X2 bus to Bridgend. The bus will leave Cardiff and into the countryside. Leave the bus at ‘St Hilary Turn/Bryn Owain Restaurant, A48’ stop. Tell the bus driver that this is where you'd like to get off, they sometimes refer to it as ‘the little shelter’. The journey will take about 20 - 30 minutes. After leaving the bus, you will have a 15 minute (just over a mile) walk, following the instructions for coming by car.
